Hollywood has stopped filming because of the pandemic and most productions will be suspended until the second or third week of January, if not later, the Film Actors Guild said.
Hollywood has stopped shooting most movies until mid-January due to the high number of coronavirus infections in Los Angeles, the actors’ union said, quoted by AFP. “Most of the productions will be stopped until the second or third week of January, if not later,” the Guild of Film Actors said in a statement.
A few days earlier, health officials in Los Angeles County called on the film industry to stop working for a few weeks “during this catastrophic increase in COVID-19 cases.” Los Angeles, the most populous county in the United States with about 10 million inhabitants, has become one of the primary outbreaks of the pandemic in the country. About 750,000 infections and nearly 10,000 deaths have been reported so far.
